Peter Eastgate was the World Series of Poker Main Event champion in 2008. He won $9,152,416 from winning the event. His previous biggest payout was $46,714 at the 2007 Paddy Power Irish Open. He is from Denmark, and has predominantly played in European tournaments prior to his win in Las Vegas.

Eastgate was only 22 years old when he won the WSOP Main Event champion, making him the youngest player to win the tournament. Before Eastgate, the record was previously held by Phil Hellmuth, who was 24 when he won the 1989 World Series of Poker championship.
